A RULE WORTH REMEMBERING

Your recovery phrase is yours alone.

It is the master backup to your wallet. Ledger will never ask you to enter it online, send it to support, or share it in a message. Anyone who gets it can take your assets. If a page, person, or pop-up asks for your phrase, stop immediately and close it.

LEDGER.COM/START® · QUICK GUIDE

A confident start to self-custody.

Taking control of your digital assets begins with a few thoughtful steps. Ledger hardware wallets are designed to keep your private keys offline, while the companion app helps you manage supported crypto assets from one place. Start by checking your device and following the instructions provided at Ledger.com/start. Download apps only from Ledger’s official website or verified app stores, and take time to check every address before you connect.

During setup, your device may generate a recovery phrase. This phrase is the backup to your wallet and must remain private. Write it down offline, keep it somewhere secure, and never enter it into a website, share it with support, or send it to anyone. Ledger will never ask for it. If something feels unexpected, pause and go directly to Ledger’s official support resources instead of following links in messages or search ads.

This independent guide is here to help you approach setup with care—not to replace the instructions that come with your device. Your security depends on keeping your recovery phrase secret and verifying that you are using official Ledger channels. Go at your own pace, trust what appears on your device screen, and make your first move with confidence.
